The History of Astrology

This is a good book to look at to get a broad overview of maybe not just the history of astrology, but also the different genres or categories or types of astrology that exist. Even though it's still largely focused on birth charts, it gives you a glimpse into other specialized areas of astrology. The most important thing about this book is that the revival of traditional astrology started happening in the 1980s and the 1990s when astrologers started translating texts. It was a long time before astrologers had been doing that for long enough and taking some of those ancient techniques and putting them into practice.
