Black women with textured hair are two times as likely to experience microaggressions in the workplace. 44% of black women under 34 feel pressured to have a headshot with straight hair. So it is about education and it's about creating an environment where black women feel confident to wear their textured hairstyles, which in turn creates more association with the image of what it takes to be professional.
