Do whistleblowers achieve the kind of radical transparency that you're saying is needed? Well, they can. I think Snowden is a good example because many people who are furious with Snowden would now admit that if it hadn't been for those leaks. In some cases, leakers are able to expose criminal wrongdoing. But when it's done recklessly, with reckless disregard for what might actually be inside those communications, in the case of WikiLeaks, then a lot of people's lives could be at risk.
