How Do You Choose Stocks?

I'm curious in this environment, given what it is with earning surprises and really a big paradigm shift from where we were in the last 40 years, how do you choose individual stocks? Like how do you go about that process? I've got three or four trading setups that I use and I've set up scans. I scan on some very particular technical criteria. And then it's just a case of eyeballing the charts, making sure that what's come up in the scans actually makes sense on a chart as a potential trade. On the bullish side, obviously, energy is great. Health care has been pretty decent. Banks more recently have had a pretty good run.
