The Theology of Marxism

New Discourses

CHAPTER

The Subjects of History

Marx has taken this to another level by saying that history is all the struggles that man has had against and in light of his conditions. And the people who are involved in the struggle are the subjects of history. The only ones who count are the self conscious masses of people whose ideas and aims are inherited from the past. So they understand history as marks would present it, and what it means teleologically, in terms of how history is going somewhere and came from somewhere in the process.
