Alexandra, where did he come from? Cook comes from Norfolk, and he grows at Norfolk's meant to be the county that produces more lawyers than anywhere else. He was always destined for a career that will make him money. When does he go into public life? Well, his father was at LINGEN'S Inn. His mother has law books, which is extraordinary in the 16th century. And what's extraordinary is that even by the end of the 1580s, he's already being recognised as a quote, oracle of the law. There aren't many people I could ever imagine history be given, that kind of status.
