The Importance of German in My Life
My family is Danish, predominantly German, a little bit of English. So we're very normal than European. Can probably tell that by looking at me. But so that was the next heartbreak for my family... I was being offered a prestigious opportunity at the university and I was going to knock that back and go off and serve a Mormon mission. And they couldn't accept that. There's a lot of entanglement that could go through on that. But anyway, the short of it is that I accepted the call. I postponed my honours year for two years and went to Germany Humburg. Although I didn't speak German, I read a lot of German literature and translation
