Bhopal is a city, the capital of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It's known as the city of lakes and is famed for being one of the greenest cities in all of India. In the early 1980s, it was home to more than a million people. The government started reaching out to foreign companies, offering them incentives to bring jobs to India. And one of the companies they approached was a union carbide, an American chemical giant with a name that sounds like they're going to do some fucker.
