Is There a Difference Between Modernity and Pre-Modernity?

In pre-modernity, man was violent and nature wasn't chanted. We believe that there's divine and spiritual forces that run through all this material stuff. Those ideas secularized led to liberalism and democracy as we see it today in the West. I think that post-modernity is a skepticism of meta-narratives. They are modernity eating itself.
