Psychologist Claude Steel's Wistling Vivaldi
Psychologist claud steel has spent a quarter century studying the phenomenon of stereotype threat. Drawing on experiments and experiences from his own life, he started to see how the fear that people have of stereotypes about them can effect how they behave. Some people facing stereotype threat just form worse. Others choose to drop out of their preferred fields, and some find ways to mask their own identity in order to disarm the stereotypes held by others. Claude calls this whistling vivaldi.
