The Concession of the Mind

Some people have proposed that the mind conjures up mental images, but we can explain how these mental images appear physically. So let's take, for example, a coffee cup. If I imagine a coffee cup in my brain, I can identify all the firing neurons and all of that. But at no point in my observation of these firing neurons, am I going to observe a coffee cup? Clearly, it is just going to be an image in my brain that makes sense to me as to what a coffee cup is. To a bat, it might be totally different. To another human, it mightbe totally different. Does this say anything about the coffee cup? I have no idea.
