The Crucifixion Process
We don't get any very clear description of this process in our sources. And again, that's not really very surprising, because this is a gruesome form of punishment for the lower classes. So describing that process in detail is not something our late roman authors are ever likely to do for us. But i think part of it might have been that it really was a commonplace and it was well understood. It's carried out with regularity, sometimes on a mass scale. Perhaps it was something that people were well aware of. We'll never know. The osery had a name on it, jehohanan, the son of hagako. So we can presumably identify this person
