The joy of salvation is married to the bitterness of suffering. Jesus was clear to his disciples that you would in this life suffer persecution. But if you treat your salvation like you treated football, then on the days that feel like a win, you'll feel like a winner. On the days that feels like you took an L, you will feel like a loser. When the truth of the matter is, it's going to rain on the just as well as the unjust because we're just walking through life.
