How Do We Counter This Narrative of Progressivism?

How do we counter this narrative of progressivism? Because i suppose it's allied to some ideas that are quite, perhaps, you could say important around identity politics. You can have a civilization develop without it taking more land from peopleor in growing its population. I think part of it is we have to change how we understand develop and you know, people say, oh, you just want to go back in time. But i want us to think of development more as an iteration, or as almost more as a spiral.
