The Effects of Zinc on Beer Fermentation

One of the things that we've done at Russian river is move our zinc additions from the whirlpool to the cold side. We ended up with a much more consistent fermentation so we had cleaner fermentation for one but also the hop creep got a lot more consistent once we got our yeast health in order. The idea is that you know it's not getting bound up in the troop and I just did a since the last west coast IPA panel we did Tom Nielsen from Sierra Nevada and I did a big hop creep presentation at California craft beer summit. But this thing with the string just is another big question mark that's over my head right now like a cartoon.
