What Are Your Thoughts on the Dominant Hierarchy Research?

The majority of dominant hierarchy research has been done on captive populations. Maybe it's something about the social organization of that species that leads it to form hierarchies regardless of the conditions that they're in, says Daniel Deo. And we can see one group will have a completely different pattern for dominance and aggression than anotherGroup who are fighting with each others' food bowls. These kind of patterns could occur within the same species even if held in very similar circumstances.
