Book Review - Machiavelli's Monarchy
Sebastian: In the case of machiavelli, context matters. When i first cracked open the prints as an undergraduate, i remember thinking it was a little slow getting going. The first 11 chapters are all about breaking down the different types of monarchies and the different ways some one can become the leader of those monarchies. Out of context, those lessons don't seem particularly virtuous, even from the perspective of someone living in 20 19.
