Nesee felt Hark's take her hand and squeeze it once. They would be overrun, but they'd make their masters proud. The pirate cackled and leapt forward, leading the charge. One of the giant trees that ringed the glade crashed down towards them. Thalas and O'er arms grinned and rushed at them as well. Onward! She yelled, and then the world screamed, a great-growing crack splitting the air. Pillars of dirt smashed up from the ground, knocking trees loose from their roots. Trees began to teeter and tumble like block towers. A brass oak as thick around as Nezzy’s house crashed down behind them
