The Geneva Convention and the War on Terrorism

The Geneva Convention has some fairly specific things to say about you know the photography of of casualties or prisoners of war. And he mentions that it now seems to be socially acceptable, at least in the digital realm to repost these things and sometimes make off-handed comments. Is there a coping mechanism at work or is perhaps there's an other mental or social contagion that makes people not just actively seek this stuff but you know comment and joke about it? I think it's a really good question and I think you need to distinguish between where you see it.
