The History of the Cuban Revolution

There was a lot of favorability in part because there had been this long-term relationship. US African Americans were keenly aware of the way racial segregation played itself out in pre-revolutionary Cuba. There's quite a few abolitionists, black abolitionists who were linked to the struggle of the Cuban people against Spain. And so those are some of the historical ties.
