Nitia's the Birth of Tragedy
Nitya understood the tragic drama in greece as an almost religious institution. He hoped that wagner might be inaugurating this new synthesis of european art on an order of greatness and significance similar to that of greek tragedy. Olnitia had hoped he was a new iscylus, a new sophocles - bringing together lyrical poetry with western orchestral music. But his pique didn't last; it devolved into social and political commentary.
