Do You Think Traditions Can Have a Proper Function in Modifying These Beliefs?
I think we often miss the fact that there's a certain amount of like what I call epistemic pleasure or emotional need where it has to be this way otherwise my house of cards falls. And I see that with views on the Bible as well. It took me forever to figure out we weren't having a real conversation. I was fighting some emotion of tradition. Do you think traditions can have a proper function in moderating these beliefs? Yeah, I think so and I hope so. We should be able to understand that our emotions are capable of being redeemed just like our reason and not fallen. Like I said it's not especially fallen. It's part of how God created us to be
