The Importance of Sensitivity in Stroke Screening Tools
There are lots of screening tools available and it does seem like everybody's had a bit of a go at designing one. So fast, I think is worth picking up on because that is the one that seems to be fairly universally used in the UK. And it's got a sensitivity across different studies of between 79 and 97%. So not too bad, but when we think about specificity, so can it tell us whether a patient's actually got a stroke that varies from 13 to 88%? So massive variation and really not that great.
