I was born and raised in Howard County, Maryland. My dad was a physicist, my mom was a homemaker. And I had the privileges that any middle class kid in America would have - which are substantial. But you really only have to peel back one generation often to find a very different story. His grandmother on his mother's side came from Ireland at 17 years old with almost no education.
