The Warning of the False Prophets
In chapter ten, verse 16, jesus disciples will be sent out as like lambs in the midst of wolves. This, i think, refers to impart false teachers in the church here. And there are later warnings in chapter 24 about people who will be false messiahs that will lead others after them. These people are to be recognized by their fruit. Is the fruit that they produce good? Are they producing something within their own lives that bears witness to the truth of their teaching? this is one of the ways that we recognize authority.
