How Did You Get Interested in Working With Couples?
Ely: My interest in sex therapy and working with sexuality kind of preceded my interest in couples work. What really brought me into this field was my interest in sexuality, and the fact that i had had my own struggles with sexual disfunction and sexual confusion as a younger person. And to day, i work on a whole range of issues with couples, but i would say sexuality is still at the centre of my work. When couples come into my practice, they've picked me because they want their sexual selves to speak to each other in ways that they cannot talk to each other. So having a practice that really honors the centrality of sexuality in individuals and couples relationships is cor of my work
