We all grow up with games that might be fun for a while, but we're tired of. An understanding that we're in a game helps us because it means we can play it better. During the cold war, the united states and the soviet union both spent millions of dollars analyzing how two countries locked in a battle for world dominion might behave. If you understood how one country was going to plan its strategy, you had a better chance of coming up with an alternative strategy.
