How to Train Your Grip in Jiu Jitsu
In Nogai, you know, thinking about arm drags or wrist grips, that's primarily what's happening. And so its line of resistance is directly out of your grip. But it occurs a lot in Jiu Jitsu. So for example, I've been training a Kinoa, a young up and coming blue belt from Gracie Academy. He can do 10 chest pull ups above the bar with no sweat. Now I'm trying to build up volume doing rope pull ups. Rope climbs have always been like an old school kind of wrestling culture. They would say they would smash us when we were smashed after a class.
