The Importance of a Representation of Australia
The last time that a republic was on the national agenda in a major way was over 20 years ago. The rest of Australia is already 60 percent on board and 25 years ago when that referendum happened I don't think we can overstate how different Australia was at that time. You know we didn't see the most representative federal parliament ever as we saw last year in 2022 not enough but a step forward. So what we're talking about here is having a relationship between all Australians as equals with our head of state who's the one position where we're subservient.
