The way in which Rob Reiner and these actors and Stephen King's writing put across what Paul Sheldon is really going through in this is horrific. The moment somebody winces because they've got like a stomach ache or something, I will be unconscious. What it feels like probably to have a block of wood put between your ankles and then to have that mallet come down. It's like a very extreme, very extreme version of like stubbing your toe or knocking your knee cap on something hard or whatever. And most I would say the majority of us probably don't know what it feels like to have a limb sawn off. No, but I hope not.
