Introduction
This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act. The act is responsible for saving 227 endangered species and another 110 that have shown what the government calls tremendous recovery. Several species have been removed from the list entirely, including American alligator, gray wolf,. bald eagle, peregrine falcon, humpback whale.
