The Importance of Friends in Journalism

I have been very frustrated in general, how much same same all news reporting is right now. The story specifically because it relies so heavily on government sourcing, read almost identical. That should terrify everyone. Access journalism means that you have to have friends inside the thing or else you don't get the story.
