Writing a Memoir About a Sexual Assault in Canada
When I first started writing about my sexual assault that it was a little bit of a selfish endeavor because it was for therapy. The more people came to me saying you know I had a similar experience or it's so good to know I'm not alone they were really big driving forces to push me to go full tilt and write a memoir about it. Going into it I was very aware that there would be a lot of eyes on it but at the same time I feel like I'm much better armored to kind of stand up against that kind of you know pushback from any readers or critics that might come my way.
