Is a Long Snapper Worth a Roster Spot?

Bill Belichick is widely considered the best coach in NFL history. He also happens to have graduated from Wesleyan with an economics degree. What he's describing here is what an economist might think of as a positive externality of specialization. In this case, each specialized player can make the others better because they have more opportunity to practice together.
