The iPad Isn't the Future of Computing
I love my iPad Pro and I use it every day and I do use it to get actual work done we're trying to think about the bigger picture here. Even if Apple were to try a merger of some kind where there's a device that is Mac like and iPad like at once I don't envision the Mac going away or the iPad going away. The core iPad market is not the iPad Pro right it's people using the iPad and the iPad Air and that isn't going to change.
