Da Vinci - A Hero of Ukraine
Junior lieutenant Dimitro Khatubalo, better known by his codename, Da Vinci, was the youngest battalion commander in the Ukrainian army. He was killed this week in the battle for Bakhmud, a month-long, deadly test of wills between the Russian and Ukrainian militaries. In 2021, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky officially declared Da Vinci a hero of Ukraine.
