We always feel that if somebody is trying to coerce or manipulate us, we're going to go against them. People want to feel like they're intelligent in their own particular way. It's not just intelligent in the one niche area of science or politics. Everybody believes that they are above average in most things. We might not all be Einstein level. Some of us are,. but we might also have to ask yourself, as an inmate, I found one area of intelligence that I'm clinging to that. There's all these different areas of intelligent.
