The Conundrum of Civilization

The book is called civilized to death and the subtitle is why everything's amazing but nobody's happy right ripping off Louis C. K. The idea that i'm really most convinced by and most interested in is this idea that there's an emergent phenomenon that happens when you get a certain scale of human population together like swarm behavior. Human swarm behavior is an emergent intelligence that has colonized us and taking control of us and has us acting against our own interests oh cool so everyone's worried about artificial intelligence they're worried about ufos They're worried about frankenstein's fucking monster and they don't realize it's already happened.
