The Importance of Equal Representation in Politics

In most decisions making bodies a majority of the participants are actually university graduates. Do you think that a body like that should reflect the actual proportions of people going into higher education in society? It's very clear to me that we should have equal representation in relation to gender, and we should have roughly proportional representation in terms of ethnicity.
