The Importance of Open Dialogue in a Democracy
In Albania it was normal to talk about very big political questions and geopolitics. In the West, when I moved outside Albania it seemed almost not polite to ask someone who do you vote for? The private becomes so political in some societies because there is a system of sanctions. It's more meritocratic than the West but yet what it couldn't do was renew itself - that's what it feels like.
