CPI and the Bond Market Didn't Love It
The bond market and stock market didn't love the new CPI numbers. The shelter component for 2022 was very, very low. We knew that this was going to cause inflation to come down grudgingly. Beginning May 10th, you will get the April 23 data, replacing the data for April of 2022. And I think we're going to be three for three in our forecast where you'll see lower numbers replace higher numbers in both shelter and core CPI.
