Is There a Monad in React?

The idea behind this was that, you know, in React, it's a tree-like structure. So if I could wrap my data in a maybe monad and then pass it down the tree, then I can extract things from it and write transformations against it without ever having to write an if statement. One of the benefits of this approach in React is the fact that because of JSX, we end up doing a lot of things as expressions. But I think it might be beneficial to expand a little bit about whatmaybe actually is.
