Liz Truss will give her first conference speech as prime minister. Penny Mordent toured the receptions and parties that night, insisting to everyone who would listen that her comments weren't a story without actually denying her position. Liz Truss wasn't to be seen at any of the receptions that night. She stayed in her suite with her husband preparing to fight for her survival on Wednesday.
