The fourteenth amendment protects fundamental rights. The fact that they were enumerated in the texts of the constitution is evidence of their fundamentality. By what you i think make a very good case for doesn't make any sense to do it the way they did it. I just need to tell the audience so they know t talking about, that the fourteenth amendment was passed in 18 68.
