Is Tipping Related to Service Quality?

Tipping is more common when societies have higer tolerance for inequality and also more masculine values, emphasizing achievement and economic relationships. A study looking across countries to see whether a stronger tipping culture was correlated with anything that you could measure found only five per cent of the variation in tip size was related to measures of service quality.
