Are the Activities Relevant to the Function of Being a Human Being?

We have a very specific list of activities and the character states that correspond to them. But they have to ask ourselves, is it any activity that we should apply the temperance test to? In other words, there are activities which aren't really relevant to human excellence or virtue. For instance, being a good horseback rider isn't relevant to the function of being a human being. I would guess that if you pinned him down on it, he would be very clear about a lot of things. To him, less clear, absolutely.
