The Problem of Pluralism in Politics

Ricardo Munoz: I would like to ask you about certain particular issues that political philosophers point to when it comes to democracy. Here's one place in my thinking where John Rawls, the 20th, early 21st century Harvard philosopher of a kind of influence that's really hard to underestimate. He says we're not always just disagreeing about two acceptable views and we're arguing about which one is optimal. Sometimes, often, maybe even, our political disputes are among options where, among the disputants, one or other of the leading options is morally suboptimal.
