OCaml's type system does a really good job of helping catch errors and code that's going to inspect your program. I've spent a lot of time working on the insights of trading systems, for example. There's actually lots of places where you want to think in exactly this kind of combinatorial way. But OCaml shows up a lot in various kinds of systems programming tasks.
