Is There a Materialistic Approach to Near Death Experiences?

There are a number of proposals as to how the near experience really is just an event going on in the brain, and it's not anything beyond that. So we're gong to look at that question, which is, is this something that's just going on inThe brain, or is there something that's actually verifiaiable, about this? Is it a kind of subjective experience that you have when you're on an acid trip? If that's the case, then clearly this may tell us something interesting about our biological selves and how our brain functions. But it doesn't tell us anything about spirituality. It certainly dosn't ell us anything about the nature of the soul.
