The Life of St. Mary of Egypt
Alfred of Ainsham was a tenth century abbot who wrote an extensive collection of lives of saints in the vernacular. The best manuscript version of this text is part of the cotton collection in the British Library. And conspicuously absent from that table of contents is the life of St. Mary of Egypt. It's in a separate choir or booklet, it's in a late one and contains some blank leaves at the end.
